If you think you have cheated, first try to solve the problem with the service manager. If you are accused of knowing something you did not request, authorize, or to understand, try to get an explanation. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding.
If you can not reach a satisfactory agreement, then try the following:
* Move the ladder to the next level of management. If you have problem with a new car dealer, then contact the regional office of the car manufacturer or their customer satisfaction department. If your problem is a chain store is connected in any way, please contact the regional or national. If you have to do with a company independently owned and operated, to speak directly to the owner.
* If it can not be the problem resolved or rejection (or you suspect you have been defrauded, are) a complaint with your Better Business Bureau. The BBB has no enforcement authority, but they can sometimes get the pressure on a member that can lead to a resolution.
* Contact your city or state agency business. They often take a very aggressive approach on your behalf to resolve the problem, especially if they had other complaints about the company.
* If the repairs must be approved in your area, the agency that regulates auto repair business. (In California, it would be the Bureau of Automotive Repair.)
* If you suspect a fraud in fact, contact state attorneys general agency (or the authority that the policy auto repair fraud). You can check on an undercover sting operation against facilities if they have reason to believe that you are not the only one who was wrong.
* If you are a true activist, you can also request to a local television news and encourage someone to “evaluate” the problem. A new team at the front door is a sweet revenge.
* Of course, tell all your friends and those who listen, what is a bad experience you had with this particular service facility. It will not do you good, but it may help others avoid trouble.
* Consider legal alternatives. You can always refuse to pay and fight in court. But legal action is still costly and time consuming if you win or lose.
